NoBS · Workout Log

Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 July 2026

The short version

NoBS is a local-first app. Your workouts and settings live on your device. We don't have accounts, we don't run ads, we don't use analytics or trackers, and we never receive or store your personal data. Any syncing or backup is something you set up and control yourself.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the NoBS – Workout Log Android app ("the app"), published by Agentas. It explains what the app does and doesn't do with your information.

Data stored on your device

Everything you log — workouts, sets, weights, reps, notes, bodyweight, mood, timers, heart-rate readings and any GPS routes — is stored locally on your device (in the app's on-device database). It is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it.

Backups and Google Sheets sync (optional)

The app can back your data up to a file you own (an .xlsx or JSON file you choose where to save). It can also optionally sync to a Google Sheet — but only if you set that up by entering your own script URL and secret in Settings. In that case your data goes directly from your device to your own Google account; it never passes through us. If you don't configure it, no syncing happens. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles data in your account.

Location

Location is used only for optional features, and only if you turn them on:

Location data stays on your device and is never sent to us. One nuance: when you view a saved route on a map, the map imagery is loaded from OpenStreetMap — those tile requests reveal only the map area being displayed (like opening any map website), never your stored routes or workout data.

Heart rate & Bluetooth

If you connect a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor (e.g. a chest strap or earbuds), the app reads your heart rate to show it live and store it with the workout. Bluetooth permissions are used solely to find and connect to that device. Nothing is transmitted off your device.

Notifications

The app can show local notifications — rest-timer alerts and optional training reminders. These are generated on your device. There is no push server and no messaging account.

App updates

When you tap "Check for updates" in Settings, the app asks our server for the latest version and, if you accept, downloads a new app bundle. These requests deliver the update to your device; they do not send us any of your workout data or personal information.

What we don't do
